| Q1. | What is Tameside Business? |
| Tameside Business is a website created by Tameside Council and the University of Manchester to support local business. It offers a searchable directory of over 6000 companies and other organisations based in the Tameside area (East Manchester). |
| Q2. | My company is not listed, what should I do to be added to the Directory? |
| If your company is located in Tameside, you should be on the Directory. If you are not, please contact us or call us on 0161 342 2515 or fax on 0161 342 4045. |
| Q3. | I have more than one business, can they be listed separately? |
| Yes, if you have several businesses in Tameside, you can register them as distinct businesses and have them listed independently. |
| Q4. | Not all my businesses are in Tameside. Can they be listed on the Directory? |
| For the moment, only businesses and organisations based in Tameside can appear on the Directory, although it is possible that the Directory may be extended to other areas in Greater Manchester at a future date. |
| Q5. | How much does it cost? |
| The service is free. There are no hidden costs and no obligations. |
| Q6. | My company’s details are not up to date. How can I change them? |
| If your details are inaccurate, you can arange to attend one of our registration days where we will provide you with a username and password along with instructions on how to make changes to your entry contact us or call us on 0161 342 2515 or fax on 0161 342 4045 and register with us so you can do all your updates directly through your own browser (see below "How can I register"). |

| All you need to do is contact us or call us on 0161 342 2515 or fax on 0161 342 4045. |
| Q8. | What else will I be able to do if I register? |
| As a registered company you will be given a username and password which will enable you to edit your company details online, select up to 3 business categories and add a logo, a description of your business, keywords for search engines. You will also be able to create additional pages (see below "What is a Mini-website"), post items on the Bulletin Board and have access to the Tameside Business Forum. You will also have a unique web address on Tameside Business. |
| Q9. | I noticed that some companies are highlighted when I carry out a search. How can I get my company highlighted? |
| Companies with a mini-website (i.e. more than the standard “Contact Us”) page are automatically highlighted on the Directory.

| Q10. | What is a mini-website? |
| It is a set of pages which complements the standard “Contact Us” page where your basic details are displayed.
You can have up to 8 additional pages: Home, Products, Services, Special Offers, Opening Hours, How to Find Us, FAQs, News. You can add pictures on some of the pages. Visit our gallery of mini-websites created by companies in Tameside. |
| Q11. | I already have a website. Should I have a mini-website on Tameside Business? |
| Most of the companies which have created mini-websites already have their own website. They see it as an additional way of promoting themselves at no extra costs. A mini-website may also be easier to edit than an ordinary website. |
| Q12. | I am not very familiar with computers. Would I be able to do it? |
| All the features on Tameside Business have been specifically designed to be used by people with little or no experience of computer or the Internet.
Mini-website are very easy to populate and to update and help is at hand through eTameside who will show you how to do it. They hold Registration Days about once a month, which are advertised in "Events". They can also visit you at your own premises. |

| Any registered business or organisation in Tameside can post news, events or jobs on the Tameside Business Bulletin Board. See FAQ No.7 on how to register or contact us or call us on 0161 342 2515 or fax on 0161 342 4045. |
| Q14. | How can I get my business listed on a Topics page? |
| If your business has a mini-website (see FAQ 10) you will automatically be listed on the page or pages where the categories your business belongs to are listed. |
